Toddlers can do more than just mix the dough when you bake! Every Tuesday during nap time, I pre-measure the ingredients and line them up left to right (pre-reading skills). The most important prerequisite is plenty of pouring work! For toddlers who are more impulsive, you can push all the ingredients out of reach and pull them forward one at a time. Know your child’s abilities–mine can peel bananas and crack eggs, so I haven’t done these things, but I would for a toddler who cannot yet. Use your largest mixing bowl to reduce the likelihood of spills!
