Montessori Corners: Living Room

This post is part of a series called Montessori Corners. I want to help you make your home Montessori friendly in a way that won’t take up a lot of space or cost you much money.

This is our living room. We’ve added Little K’s shelf under the window where it gets plenty of natural light. She uses the section of our living room rug in front of the shelf as her work rug, or she opts for her work table, which is simply our ottoman. The shelf is the only item we added to the room.

I really prefer using our cozy living room for Little K’s word period. Originally I had thoughts of converting our guest cottage into a playroom but I’ve realized that it works really well having her play where we already feel at home. There’s honestly no need for more space.
